Join us for the Midsummer Þing 2008

The Registration form is now available HERE.

Iðavelli Hof will be holding its MidSummer þing the weekend of June 27th-29th at Falls Lake, NC (near Durham and Raleigh). The Thing will run from Friday evening to Sunday morning and will include:
  • Traditional MidSummer pole
  • Seasonal crafts and games, including tafl and kubb
  • Blots to the gods of the north, the Aesir and Vanir
  • Celebration of Symbel after Saturday's feast
  • Oracular Seidhr
  • Election of the Hof's officers for the coming year
  • Various workshops, including hand-spinning and folklore


All of the following are included in the price of attendance:
Primitive Campsite (parking, running water, and toilets will be available nearby)
Dinner Saturday and Breakfast Sunday
Participation in all blots, symbels, and other religious activities

Prices:
Individuals: $45.00
Family $40.00 per person
Ages 6~12 $15.00
Ages 0~5 $free
Single Night $35.00 (includes 3 meals)
Members who are unable to attend the entire Þing may attend the business meeting only at no cost

Registration:
***Space is limited.*** Registration is first come, first serve. Advance registration is required, and registration forms must be recieved by the 20th of June. The registration form is now available in PDF format HERE.
Food:
We would like to accomodate any special dietary needs. If your diet requires special consideration (vegetarian, etc.) please contact Ana (ana [at] analeia [dot] net) via email no later than Sunday 17 June. Site:
This year, we'll be in the Falls Lake State Recreation Area. This is a public park with its own rules. You can find them here. The Þing will take place rain or shine. Prepare for wet weather even if the forecast calls for dry conditions; the Gods may have other plans.

What to bring:

Feastware: plate, cup, utensils
Tent and camping gear, including camp chair and insect repellant
Drinking horn and other ritual items
Clothes, toiletries, and personal items
Snacks and extra drinks, if desired
