Rede Meeting Minutes 07 September 2008

Redesfolk Present: Dan, Phil, Ana, Jag, Jenn

Previous meeting's minutes unanimously approved.
Previous meeting's actions reviewed and discussed briefly.

I. Rede Business from E-mail
Hof Items List: Dan created a spreadsheet containing current Hof-owned items. Consensus is to proceed with general access to the list, updating as items are acquired. Embed list in Hof wiki and link to website. With regard to the topic of Hof storage, we did not see the need at this time.
Land Fund Clause: Unanimously approved. Dan will collect required signatures and carry to bank (TBD) in order to establish a dedicated Hof Land Fund account. Phil will look into different account types, branch locations or virtually managed accounts, as well as PayPal fees for donation deposits, and bring these options to Rede at a later date.

II. Upcoming Events
Blóts: September's blót will be facilitated by Stacey and Phil and is dedicated to Freyja. Due to the proximity to PPD, this will be a public event and will include part one of Ana's “Everyday Heathenry” workshop. November's blót will be facilitated by Jenn, TBD.
Winternights: October's blót will be the Winternight's festival. Ana & Eric will host, Stacey & Jenn will work on food for the smörgåsbord-style feast.
Pagan Pride Day: Saturday 20 September
Set-up time: 9:00 a.m., Event 11:00-7:00
Hof information booth will provide various fliers and answers to visitor's questions. (Fliers to include: Non-affiliated, Hof, runes, blóts.) A schedule of volunteers and items to bring will follow.

III. Þing Sites
Hof-Talk Feedback: No one volunteered information via e-mail prompt for discussion.
Other Sites: Steph's continued research into future sites for MidSummer Þing 2009 included Stone House/Stone Circle, near Mebane. Facilities include air-conditioning, kitchenette, large indoor meeting space. Last known quote was $500 for ten people. Unknown as to weather or not tent camping is allowed, or if there is an additional fee for said camping. Site discussed at the previous meeting, near Wilksboro, north of Hickory, featured pavilions, electrical, and running water. Fee was $200 or less. Another option, particularly considering a one day event, would be UUCH, whose rate is also $200 or less. Steph will further look into Stone Circle and bring info to the group.

IV. Budgets
Budget 2007-08: Small arithmetic errors corrected, cash-flow table added. Unanimously approved.
Budget 2008-09: Wording modifications, discretionary spending for each office established (Rede approval only needed for amounts above discretionary limit). Note: Modifications to budget will be noted in summary at the end of the budget at the closing of the budget year. Unanimously approved.

V. Other Outstanding Actions
Jenn's accessibility to web—Needs Phil to walk-through.
Jenn's Rede Bio—Posted.
Website review and revision; wiki development—Phil looked into free up-time tracking and might try another site for this. Considering moving services from Phil's house, but nothing certain yet. Wiki/gallery not modified. Steph sent a few suggestions, and Jag modified a few of the less intensive ones. We discussed the possibility of embedding an iCal client instead of Google Calendar. Dan to take over project management, collect notes made thus far, add recommendations, and ensure project's completion.
Conflict of Interest Statement—Not yet added to website or wiki. Dan to get CoF to Jag with a recommendation of where to put it. Phil will add to wiki.
Hof Logo brainstorming—Dan to arrange meeting in early Oct. or Nov. Proposed logo should be iconic in style, easy to shrink and modify for business cards, standards and banners.
501(c)(3) Paperwork—Jag to move paperwork/packet to the wiki for central access and information collection

VI. Any Other Business
Item: Dan would like to obtain a 5 gal glass carboy for Hof mead. Cost: ~$35. Unanimously approved. Dan or Phil will purchase on their next brewing supply outing.
