Iðavelli Hof rede meeting minutes: 29 April 2007 Redesfolk present: Jag, Phil, Ana, Eric Previous meeting's minutes unanimously approved. I. Þing Date: Saturday 23 June and Sunday 24 June Eric will look into possible locations, including Jordan Lake and Camp Durant Finding a location that allows alcohol may be difficult. Ana and Phil will develop a list of fun Midsummer activities for adults and children Dan will plan the ritual aspect (he was present at the meeting and offered to do so) Ana and Jag need to send out announcements about the Þing, rede nominations, and dues for 2006-2007 Phil will handle Saturday dinner - perhaps a grill-out, perhaps Allen & Sons like last year Ana will handle Sunday lunch and special diets for dinner (Dan, vegetarian) II. Tax Exempt Status Filing for 501c3 status costs about $300-$600. 501c3 status is valuable because people can then write off their taxes large donations, such as to the building fund. The rede will determine the wording for the description of the special building fund via email. III. Miscellaneous Business We need to update the old minutes to include Dan's full name for his authorization to perform weddings. Business cards for the hof will run about $30-$40; that needs to be included in next year's budget. Ana will plan the May blot.
