Iðavelli Hof membership meeting minutes: 17 June 2006 I. Rede Elections For Jarl: Phil - 2; Jag - 6. For the two Member-at-Large positions: Eric - 4; Matt - 7; Phil - 7. II. Bylaws Phil reported on the bylaws. Copies of a draft bylaws were handed out to all members. Members should contact Phil, Matt, or Jag with concerns, questions, or corrections to the bylaws. We will aim to have the first version of the bylaws complete by Yule. It will definitely be ready for a vote by the membership at the 2007 Þing. III. Dues General consensus is that we should have smallish dues to cover maintenance expenses (for P.O. box, postage, etc., and later perhaps maintenance of other resources) and ask people to contribute additionally to the building fund as they are able. Dues for 2006-2007 were agreed by consensus and set at $25 for individuals and $35 for households. IV. Clergy As a temporary measure, for use on an as-needed basis until further decisions are made, the Jarl may appoint someone as clergy, and the rede must ratify the appointment. Vote: Ayes - 7; Nays - 1. Matt dissented on the grounds that the entire membership should vote on clergy, and this measure does not allow for that. V. Library Some members have extra books that they would like to donate to start a Hof library. The membership in general agreed that this would be a good idea. Eric volunteered to maintain the library. Details about the library will be finalised by the rede at their next meeting.
